To determine
amounts of material needed for patios, pathways & walls:

Measure the
Volume of the area (height x width x depth) in inches or
feet
-
Convert the
Volume to cubic yards (divide cubic inches by 12 to get
cubic feet; divide cubic feet by 27 to get cubic yards)
-
Multiply
cubic yards by 1.4 to get the # Tons needed to create a
rock wall.
*** Before
ordering material, measure at least twice, and three times
is still not too many times. A mistake in estimating
amounts can be costly.
