Vision Statement

Maria Carlos is a Certified Professional Horticulturist who makes a positive impact on the world – one garden at a time. She has helped homeowners and small businesses develop beautiful gardens by teaching classes, coaching individual gardeners, consulting with homeowners, and designing gardens in the Puget Sound area in Western Washington. She values integrity in all relationships, respect for people and the environment, and steady progress toward excellence.  

Welcome to our revamped web-site!  Personal life-challenges forced a hiatus in 2007, but 2008 promised to be great.  We are embarking on forays into the written word with a Garden Journal.  Come back often to find new entries marking progress in our Kitsap County garden on the Garden Journal page and newly discovered garden resources on the Resources page.

A special story...

           ...Agua (awa) Mansa  is Spanish for Calm Waters.  It is also the name of the area in which Garden Consultant Maria Carlos' great-grandmother lays at rest. The bilingual business name is Maria's way to honor the bravery of her pioneering and entrepreneurial ancestors.
